One of our goals at the Crook County School District is to continually improve our communication with the community. Therefore, we will be sending out a regular email from Central Office with pertinent information for you. So here goes…
August School Board Meeting
Our next school board meeting will be held at Central Office on Monday, August 15th at 6 pm. You can view the agenda online plus view minutes from previous meetings. We invite everyone to join us.
Are you interested in serving on the school board?
Speaking of the school board meetings, if you are interested in serving the students of Crook County as a board member, the filing period is open through August 29th. Feel free to reach out to us for more information or visit the Crook County Clerk’s office.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
The waivers granted by the USDA, which allowed us to serve free meals to all students, expired last June. That means that school meals will again have to be paid for this school year. Fortunately, many of our students may still qualify for free or reduced-price meals. To find out if your child qualifies, please pick up the application form at any of our school buildings. We also plan to have an online application available in the next couple of weeks.
Did you know?
Besides free or cheaper meals for your child, this also helps qualify your school for additional funding. Great for you and great for your school!
Come and visit us!
All of our schools will be hosting an open house before the school year starts. This is a perfect opportunity to meet the staff, drop off school supplies, and just get a lay of the land.
Hulett School - August 22nd @ 5:30pm
Moorcroft Elementary - August 22nd @ 5:30pm
Moorcroft High - August 22nd @ 5:30pm
Sundance Elementary - August 18th @ 5:00pm

In addition, you are always welcome to stop by Central Office and enjoy a hot cup of coffee.
Are you interested in working at Crook County School District?
We have a few positions still open across the district. You can find out more by visiting www.crook1.com. If you are interested in serving as a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, custodian, or lunch staff, we would love to hear from you.
Meet the new guy!
In June, Mrs. Steele retired as the administrative assistant to the Superintendent and School Board after more than thirty years of service. While she will be greatly missed, we are excited to have Matthew Wolfskill join our team in this role. Matthew grew up in Crook County and now resides near Hulett with his wife Tiffany and their two boys. If there is any way Matt can be of help to you, please feel free to email him at email@example.com.
We need your help!
One of our goals at CCSD #1 is to maintain student attendance at 90% or above. Last year, because of great parents like you, we averaged 93.49% across the district. Thank you so much for helping to make sure your child is in school and ready to learn every day. Working together, we can make sure our students have the best possible chance for success!
