Good morning parents!

We are starting our third week of school, and things have gone pretty smoothly.  On the first day of school, we had 1,265 students attending across the district.  This is one of the highest numbers we have had in some years, and we are excited for the opportunity to serve each student.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications

If you have not already noticed, we are again charging for school meals, and while they are low-cost and highly nutritious, this can still be a bit of an expense to your family.  Fortunately, you can apply for free or reduced lunch prices for your children.  The program is entirely based on your family size and income.  If you would like to see if you qualify, you can fill out a short form on your child’s Power School account or stop by any of the schools to pick up a paper application.  Applying takes just a few minutes and could save your family a little extra cash this year.

Meet Bailey Lohmeyer

We are so excited to have Bailey Lohmeyer join our staff this year at CCSD.  She serves as the district’s mental health professional.  In her position, Bailey will help with individual and group counseling as well as teach life skills lessons in the classroom.  She is a mother of four children and lives on her family’s ranch in Northeast Wyoming.  If you have any questions for Ms. Lohmeyer, please email her at

School Board Information

Our next school board meeting is scheduled for September 19th at Moorcroft Elementary at 6pm.  The agenda for that meeting will be available online one week before the meeting.  Our August meeting went well as we prepared for the new school year.  If you would like to view the minutes from that meeting, you can see those on our website.  We encourage you to join us at any of our school board meetings.  Your input is valued, and we would love to hear from you.

Last month, we mentioned that there would be some openings on the school board this coming year.  We are excited to have thirteen people running for those openings in November, so be sure to get out and vote on November 8th.

Did you know?

There are 32 named islands in Wyoming.  We know it’s true because we read it on the internet!

Labor Day Weekend

There will be no school on Monday, September 5th, but there will be classes on Friday, September 9th.  Hopefully, you have some adventurous plans for the Labor Day weekend!

Help Wanted

Have you ever thought about becoming a substitute teacher but don’t know what it entails?  Superintendent Broderson will be doing an introductory class for all who want to learn more.  The course will be held at Central office in Sundance on Thursday, September 8th at 1pm.

If you’re looking for a more steady gig, we have a few openings across the district.  Be sure to check these out on our website.  If you have any questions, you can email Sherri Moeller at
