National School Lunch Program

Crook County School District #1 operates under the federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Crook County School District #1 is committed to ensuring that all students are able to participate. The operation of the food service program will be as non-profit and CCSD #1 meets all state and federal requirements necessary for participation. These programs are designed to promote the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals in the school setting.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

Crook County School District #1 participates in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). The goal of the FFVP is to introduce children to fresh fruits and vegetables, to include new and different varieties, and to increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children. Students in the elementary schools across the district receive a free fruit or vegetable snack several times a week.

Free and Reduced Lunch Program

Crook County School District #1 Students may received free or reduced lunch prices based on their enrollment in SNAP benefits or Medicare.  They may also qualify based on their family’s income.  The 2023-2024 income eligibility guidelines show how much families of various sizes can make to qualify for lower priced meals.  To apply for free or reduced lunches, please fill out an application on your child’s Power School.  For more information regarding the free ad reduced lunch program, please contact your school office.
